A variety of pyrope is a violet-red shade and has been called rhodolite, Greek for “rose”. In chemical composition it may be considered as essentially an isomorphous mixture of pyrope and almandine, in the proportion of two parts pyrope to one part almandine. These stones have mostly orange and pink hues and are a 6.5-7.5 on the Mohs scale. We reserve the right to substitute these individual pieces with material of equal or greater value. These pictures are not to scale so please read each description for the actual size.
